Looking for new ways to get outside this winter? Why not give dog sledding a go? Northern New England is home to two ethically run kennels that provide winter family fun, the opportunity to make memories with friends and even learn a new skill.

Near White Mountain National Forest in Jefferson, New Hampshire Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel offers mushing adventures designed to be more than just a 'ride'. Guests aged two-and-up are encouraged to be hands-on and are given the opportunity to meet and greet sled dogs (many of which are rescue and second chance dogs) and help prepare the team for the trail. Tours vary in duration and range from introductory experiences to interactive clinics.

Eden Dog Sledding in Eden Mills, Vermont is run by an International mushing champion who has developed a wildness trail system exclusively for dog sledding. Eden's pack of Alaskan Huskies is known as the "un-chained gang" and enjoy interacting with guests of all ages who come for an authentic, wilderness experience. In addition to the variety of tour options, a stay-and-sled package is offered. Eden Mills is a scenic drive and a reasonable distance from several of northern Vermont’s popular ski destinations including Stowe, Jay Peak, and Smuggler's Notch.
